ACES, Trauma, and Trauma-Informed Care

This 6-hour training is facilitated by Deb Rhoades, Best Practice Trainer and InUnity Trainer Registry member, live or virtually via Zoom. For Zoom training, participants must have access to both audio and video connection and must fully participate.



This Rhoades to Recovery Training is approved by InUnity-NYCB for 6 CRPA and CARC Continuing Education renewal hours/CARC Electives (Initial Certification). It is also approved by OASAS for CASAC, CPP and CPS Renewal Hours. 

This 6-hour training The goal of this training is to provide participants with the introductory knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and Trauma Informed Care. This knowledge will inform and guide participants to use and implement a trauma-informed framework when working with clients with a SUD and consider the critical question: “what happened to this person” instead of “what is wrong with this person”.

4. Defining Trauma Informed Care

5. The Relationship between Trauma and Behavioral Health
