Opioid Overdose and Suicide Loss in the
Behavioral Health Workforce
12-Hours
This training is offered live or virtually through Zoom. Deb Rhoades, a Best Practice Trainer and member of the InUnity Trainer Registry, will facilitate this 12-hour training. For participants attending via Zoom, it is essential to have both audio and video capabilities and to engage fully throughout the session.
This Rhoades to Recovery Training is recognized by InUnity-NYCB for CRPA and CARC Continuing Education renewal hours, as well as for CARC Electives (Initial Certification). Additionally, it is approved by NYS OASAS for CASAC, CPP, and CPS Renewal Hours. Social Work Continuing Education hours can be requested as needed.
This 12-hour training will address traumatic loss and its impact on the behavioral health workforce, including overdose and suicide statistics, risk factors, and risk management measures, prevention and postvention protocols; grief and loss topics, vicarious traumatization and burnout; and clinician/coach self-care.
Participants will:
- Increase their understanding and awareness of the impact of suicide and overdose on behavioral health staff.
- Increase knowledge of risk factors and risk for clients.
- Explore the prevalence of prevention and postvention protocols.
- Increase understanding of vicarious traumatization and burnout.
- Obtain strategies and resources for counselor/peer recovery professional self-care.
